The Snow Shack sits on the site of the historic, now-abandoned mining town of Dudley, Colorado which was once a bustling hub during the silver and gold rush era. Though the town has long since faded into history, its spirit lingers in the rugged landscape and quiet mountain air. Today, Dudley’s forgotten past provides a hauntingly beautiful backdrop for the Snow Shack, grounding this peaceful sanctuary in a rich tapestry of Colorado’s mining heritage.

We created the Snow Shack with a clear purpose: to offer a restorative refuge for people overwhelmed by the pace of modern life. We saw how so many, ourselves included, were caught on a kind of digital gerbil wheel, endlessly scrolling, comparing, chasing likes, and losing touch with the quiet, grounding presence of nature, loved ones, and even ourselves. We knew this place needed to exist, not just for us, but for those who need it most.
